Dr. Mercado
is from Sabana Grande , Puerto Rico. She received her undergraduate degree from InterAmerican University and attended medical school at Pedro Enrique Urena in the Dominican Republic. She completed her Internal Medicine residency in the Mayaguez Regional Hospital and her Cardiology fellowship at Ponce School of medicine Damas and Saint Lukes Hospital. Dr. Mercado also completed her Echocardiography Fellowship at the Tulane and Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She also completed her Nuclear Cardiology training at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia.

Dr. Mercado
Is board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Dieases. She is a Member of the American College of Cardiology , and also a member of the American Echcoardiograpohy Society. Her special Interest include General cardiology, Transthoracic and Transesophageal Echocardiogram and Nuclear Cardiology.
